Bright Skies Childcare

About Bright Skies

Built by parents, for parents

We started as a family in-home daycare in 2017. Now we run two schools and care for over 120 children daily — but the core belief hasn't changed.

Our Story

Where it started

Bright Skies began in 2017 as a small in-home daycare in Kansas City, Missouri. The founders had seen firsthand what a difference quality, relationship-centered childcare made — and what it looked like when it was missing.

By 2022, demand had grown enough to open our first school in Topeka, Kansas. Belton, Missouri followed in April 2023. Today, we serve more than 120 children daily across both locations, with a team of over 40 dedicated educators.

The thing that hasn't changed: every decision we make starts with the question, “Is this good for the child?” Not just safe, not just convenient — genuinely good.

What We Believe

Our values

🤝

Relationships first

Children learn best when they feel safe and known. Every educator at Bright Skies is trained to build genuine connections with the children in their care.

🎯

Intentional learning

We don't believe in busywork. Every activity, routine, and environment choice is deliberate — designed to support real developmental outcomes.

👨‍👩‍👧

Transparent partnership

Parents are partners, not just customers. Daily app updates, open director lines, and no-surprise billing are part of how we operate.

📈

Continuous improvement

We evaluate our programs regularly, seek feedback from families, and update our curriculum to reflect what research tells us works best.

Our Educators

The people behind the program

Every Bright Skies educator is Safe Sleep certified, First Aid and CPR trained, and vetted through our rigorous hiring process. We invest in our staff — competitive pay, PTO, and retirement benefits — because we believe that when educators thrive, children do too.

Staff retention matters to us. Familiar faces matter to children. We work hard to make Bright Skies a place where great educators build long careers.

Financial Aid & Subsidy

Childcare assistance we accept

Military Childcare

VA Programs

Eligible VA childcare benefits accepted. Ask your director for current program details.
